WHY GIVE?

The Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission is a 501(C)3 organization established through a partnership between Buncombe County, the City of Asheville, UNC Asheville, and the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority. In keeping with the above Mission Statement, ABRSC aggressively works to recruit sporting events to all areas of Asheville, Buncombe County and the surrounding region that attract visitors and enhance the wellness and quality of life for local residents.

 Since the Sports Commission’s inception in 2010, the ABRSC has created outstanding Local Organizing Committees and volunteers for sporting events hosted in Asheville and Buncombe County. The list includes the Southern Conference Basketball Championships (2012-2026), three Billie Jean King Cup Ties (2018, 2019, 2022), Asheville Championship (2021-2023), Spartan Race (2015-2019), Gala Gymnastics (2012-2027), Maui Invitational (2020) and the U.S. Cyclocross National Championships (2016) to name a few.
