Christ School will host elite scholastic basketball this February as it welcomes five of the nation’s premier prep programs for the Christ School Classic, a Nike EYBL Scholastic tournament held on campus in Arden, North Carolina. This event marks the first-ever Nike EYBL Scholastic tournament hosted by Christ School, making it a milestone weekend for the program and the Western North Carolina basketball community.

The Christ School Classic will feature three days of high level competition showcasing nationally ranked teams and some of the top high school basketball talent in the country. As part of the Nike EYBL Scholastic League, the event provides a premier stage for players, coaches and fans to experience the highest level of prep basketball.

Participating Team Rosters

Each participating program competes on the Nike EYBL Scholastic circuit and brings a tradition of excellence, national recognition and top-tier prospects to Arden for this showcase event.

ABOUT THE EVENT

The Gala is a women’s gymnastics competition for athletes of all ages. This annual event has become a large competitive opportunity for gymnasts of all levels from all over the Southeast region and beyond.

The Gala partners are committed to making each Gala a top-notch competition and a fun and memorable experience for all participants, coaches, volunteers, and spectators.

Athletes and teams can register for The Gala 2026 on Meetmaker.com.

In order to provide the highest quality meet for you and your athletes, all entries will be accepted on a first-come basis. Substitutions or level changes are accepted on a space-available basis. The meet schedule and all meet information will be posted on the website by December 1, 2025.

ADMISSIONS

There is an admission fee to get into the event (gymnasts and coaches excluded). Tickets are available at the door and are good for the entire day. Weekend passes are also available.

The Grapple returns to the Harrah’s Cherokee Center - Asheville!
45-50 of the top teams from the Southeastern United States will compete for the 2025 title. This is an individual and team tournament, double elimination with wrestle backs to 6th place. We are excited to continue the growth and competitiveness of our independent Girl’s Invitational Tournament in 2025.

The Southern Conference, in conjunction with Ingles, Explore Asheville, the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission, and Harrah’s Cherokee Center, will host its 2025 Ingles SoCon Volleyball Championship in Asheville, North Carolina, at Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville on Nov. 20-23.

The 2025 volleyball championship marks the first time in the conference’s history that the tournament will be hosted exclusively at a neutral location for all teams. The championship was slated to be in Asheville in 2024 but was moved to Wofford in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Ingles Southern Conference Cross Country Championships

The Southern Conference (SoCon) in conjunction with the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission (ABRSC), Ingles and the Tryon International Equestrian Center is proud to host its 2025 Ingles SoCon Cross Country Championships in Mill Spring, North Carolina, at Tryon Equestrian International Center on November 1, 2025.

The 2025 cross country championship marks the first time in the conference’s history that the championship will be held at the Tryon Equestrian International Center. Both Furman Palidins men’s and women’s teams took home the team title in 2024 along with Furman capturing both the men’s (Dylan Schubert) and women’s (Carly Wilkes) individual titles.

Four NCAA women’s volleyball teams are gathering in Asheville this September for the inaugural Blue Ridge Volleyball Classic tournament. This is the first collegiate volleyball tournament at Harrah’s Cherokee Center—Asheville since the venue signed on as the official host of the Ingles Southern Conference Women’s Volleyball Championship (2025-2027). The year’s lineup includes host Western Carolina Catamounts and features the College of Charleston Cougars, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte 49ers, and Bradley University Braves.

Mark your calendars for August 2-3, 2025 in Asheville's Blue Ridge Mountains!

TEAM REGISTRATION is OPEN

One captain from a team should wrangle their cavalry and sign up a team. This holds the team's spot in line to attend HoDown. We are currently still accepting teams, but your registration will be pending until accepted. 

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION is OPEN

Captains—once you’ve registered your team, share the individual registration link with your players! Everyone must register individually to play.

THE SPIRIT OF HODOWN

HoDown Throwdown will look a little different this year, but we’re still dedicated to the full spread of shenanigans, spirit, and Appalachian hospitality!

At its core, HoDown is about showing up with heart, humor, and something in hand. This year, we’re inviting each team to contribute a little something to the tournament—whether it’s a spirit game at the fields or beer tent, a team-themed activity, or sweet treats to add to Saturday’s family meal. Maybe you want to take over the beer tent during your bye?! Perhaps you host a silent disco?! Bring a taste of your team’s personality to the table, and contribute to the HoDown magic!

HODOWN HAPPENINGS

In lieu of Camp HoDown, we’re bringing the party to the fields! On both Saturday and Sunday, a Beer Garden will be open throughout the day. Each team will have a scheduled bye to enjoy whatever foolishness brews at the beer tent.

Saturday evening, we’ll host a taco bar + party at the fields after games wrap up—so plan to stay and celebrate!
