The Art Dash 5k course starts and finishes in Downtown Asheville near the monument on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 to kick off LEAF Downtown. Asheville Track Club has included the Art Dash in the GRAND PRIX and it is a “Couch 2 5K” event. Let’s Run our Ash off!
The run began at 9 a.m. on Saturday with a chip-timed 5k for individual runners.

 The course traveled through the city’s downtown and surrounding area.  At the starting line, runners or families will get warmed up artfully and with a fun LEAF groove. Along the race, Asheville Community Yoga will have volunteers to assist and guide runners, and Roaming Artist will spice up the route with playful puppets, costumes, and artful moments. “This run will directly support LEAF Schools and Streets bringing arts to our local youth in collaboration with local partners,” said Jennifer Pickering, LEAF Community Arts Executive Director.  LEAF has partnered with the Asheville-based SuperFly Fabulous Events to plan, implement and manage the run. ” It’s exciting to be working on our home turf on an event that has such potential for the city’s downtown,” said Stephanie Carson, Director of SuperFly Fabulous Events.
