Friends of the Smokies, an official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service, will hold its third annual Smokies Cup at the Biltmore Sporting Clays Club on September 16th and 17th. Teams of four can register for the tournament at SmokiesCup.org.
Proceeds from the event will fund several projects and programs to help ensure that America’s most-visited national park is preserved and protected for generations to come.
“The 2021 Smokies Cup promises to be the biggest and best yet. Participants will enjoy a great day of the sporting clays tournament, gourmet food, special games, and the treat of the Wild Rose Sporting Dog Expo,” said Tim Wright, Smokies Cup Chair. “Not only will supporters and participants enjoy a great time they can also take great pride in helping to preserve and protect Great Smokey Mountains National Park.”
Teams can compete either Thursday or Friday. Morning and afternoon flights are available with breakfast and lunch following the competition.
Friends of the Smokies Board Director Dr. Robert Powell is pleased to introduce the Powell Family Challenge. Teams consisting of four family members may enter the family challenge at no additional cost and will be eligible to take home an additional award.
The Smokies Cup will also feature a sporting dog expo by Wild Rose International. Wild Rose is the oldest, largest and most diversified producer and trainer of British and Irish Labradors in North America. Wildrose British Labradors are regarded among wingshooters and adventurers as the finest, versatile sporting dogs in the world.
